Our History
Founded in 1993, the Puerto Rican Parade of Fairfield County was created to celebrate Puerto Rican culture, heritage, and pride while fostering unity within the local community. What began as a small gathering has grown into a vibrant annual tradition that honors Puerto Rican history, arts, and contributions both locally and globally. Over the years, the parade has become a cornerstone event in Fairfield County, drawing thousands of people together to share in the joy and spirit of Puerto Rican culture. Today, it stands as a symbol of community, resilience, and the enduring legacy of Puerto Ricans in Connecticut and beyond.
Our Activities
Since 1993, the Puerto Rican Parade of Fairfield County has hosted a variety of events to celebrate Puerto Rican culture and bring the community together. Our annual parade and festival showcase vibrant floats, music, and food, while the Cultural Pageant highlights the talents and beauty of young variousPuerto Rican women.
We also engage in community outreach, youth empowerment programs, and fundraisers to support our mission. Additionally, we honor local leaders through the Grand Marshal program and celebrate important Puerto Rican holidays with educational events and gatherings. These activities help us connect, educate, and celebrate Puerto Rican heritage in Fairfield County.
